Heinrich Bucher(-Weiss) ran the Murzeln blacksmith's shop in Niederweningen, Switzerland. This blacksmith shop became what we now know as Bucher Industries. Bucher Industries is a Swiss industrial group of 12,600 employees based near Zurich. Each of the group’s 5 divisions is a leader in its specific field of activity led by food industry flagships. Kuhn Group specializes in farm machinery design and manufacture, and Bucher Specials specializes in wine production equipment with Bucher Vaslin and fruit juice production equipment with Bucher Unipektin. Bucher Vaslin North America (BVNA) is a subsidiary of Bucher Vaslin.

Bucher Industries purchased KLR Machines inc. which had offices in Sebastopol and New York. That small office in Sebastopol turned into Bucher Vaslin North America (BVNA), now located in Santa Rosa. At the time Bucher Unipektin, presses, destemmers, and spare parts were the main products sold along with service.
